The last thing Arkansas needs is more bad news off the field, but that's what the Hogs got Tuesday when reserve linebacker Tyler Gilbert was arrested and charged with aggravated residential burglary and felony theft of property.

Taver Johnson, the Hogs' interim head coach this spring, said Gilbert has been suspended indefinitely from the team. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound sophomore was listed as a backup to Braylon Mitchell at one of the outside linebacker spots on the spring depth chart.

Gilbert is the third Arkansas football player arrested this spring. Offensive tackle Jason Peacock was arrested in March and charged with felony theft of property, and receiver Kane Whitehurst was arrested on April 2 and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Hogs are finishing up spring practice this week after head coach Bobby Petrino was fired last week.
