Third quarter update: Florida 27, Tennessee 0

This is all you really need to know about the so-called Florida-Tennessee rivalry.

The Gators ended the third quarter with a 27-0 lead over the Vols. In the last five quarters, dating back to last season, Florida has outscored Tennessee 58-7. That's where this series is right now. It doesn't really deserve to be called a rivalry.

The Vols did end the third quarter with a first-and-goal from the 1 after a 11-yard pass from Jonathan Crompton to Luke Stocker. Otherwise, it's been all Florida, which took a 27-0 lead on Tim Tebow's 15-yard touchdown pass to Percy Harvin on a third-and-5 play.

Tebow really stood in on the throw and took a pretty nasty hit. There have been a couple of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, as the Tennessee players are obviously starting to get frustrated. You wonder how long Florida coach Urban Meyer will leave Tebow in at this point.
