OK, it's way early to be talking about who's setting the pace in recruiting for the 2013 class.

Then again, it's never too early to be discussing recruiting in the realm of the SEC.

The ESPN recruiting folks have unveiled their first class rankings for 2013 Insider based on committed prospects. Michigan is No. 1 nationally, but five SEC teams are in the top 10.

Florida is No. 2, Alabama No. 3, Georgia No. 5, Texas A&M No. 6 and Auburn No. 9.

Florida has seven ESPN 150 prospects, which leads the SEC. All 16 of the Gators' commitments are four-star prospects.

Alabama has a total of 14 commitments for the 2013 class, and 13 of those are ESPN 300 prospects.

Georgia already has 19 commitments with 11 of those being ranked among the ESPN 300 prospects.

All told, the SEC has nine of the top-25 classes nationally. LSU checks in at No. 13 and South Carolina at No. 15.

Hugh Freeze also has Ole Miss off to a quick start, as the Rebels are No. 20 in the early rankings.

And for the second straight year, Vanderbilt and James Franklin are making some noise on the national recruiting trail. The Commodores are No. 23.
