LSU's defense was one of the nation's best in 2011, but its offense was seriously lacking. So how did the Tigers make up for it and get to the BCS title game? LSU's special teams unit was stellar, and it could be better this season.

Laney:

Countdown to Camp. LSU defensive ends Sam Montgomery and Barkevious Mingo are two of the top five picks on Mel Kiper Jr.’s first NFL draft board. So LSU's defensive line should be just fine without Michael Brockers, especially when you add highly regarded NFL prospect Bennie Logan at defensive tackle.
