LSU leads way on coaches' All-SEC team

The league's coaches have tabbed seven LSU players first-team preseason All-SEC. Alabama and Arkansas each had four players to earn first-team honors.

Alabama and LSU each had 11 players to make one of the three All-SEC teams picked by the coaches.

There are nine first-team preseason selections that were also on last year’s first-team coaches' All-SEC postseason team. They include center Barrett Jones (Alabama); offensive tackle Alex Hurst (LSU); quarterback Tyler Wilson (Arkansas); defensive end Sam Montgomery (LSU); defensive end Corey Lemonier (Auburn); outside linebacker Jarvis Jones (Georgia); cornerback Tyrann Mathieu (LSU); safety Bacarri Rambo (Georgia); and place-kicker Caleb Sturgis (Florida).
