Miles not biting on Mathieu's future

If Tyrann Mathieu has any football future at LSU, coach Les Miles wasn't about to go there Tuesday.

But Miles also wasn't ruling out a return by Mathieu to the Tigers' football team in 2013.

"I am not in any way going to speculate," Miles said. "He will not be on this football this year. I guarantee it. That's a fact. I have no idea beyond that."

There have been conflicting reports about Mathieu's future. Sources have told ESPN.com that Mathieu had expressed interest in remaining at LSU as a student this year and then returning to the football team in 2013. McNeese State and Jackson State are also possibilities.

If Mathieu is going to transfer to a smaller school and play football this season, he's probably going to have to make a decision in the next few days.
