Patton was injured on an awkward tackle by Georgia safety Shawn Williams in the first half.
Losing Patton takes an important part of Florida's running game away. While he had only one catch on the season, he was used on end-arounds and made some pretty big plays for the Gators this year to get first downs. He carried the ball 14 times for 140 yards and was also a top player on special teams.
The Gators were already hurting in the playmaker department and this team just couldn't afford to lose someone who had potential to help this offense out more. Now, Andre Debose, who has struggled to earn playing time this season, will get more opportunities in the running and passing game.
There's no question that Debose has the athletic ability to be dangerous on offense, but he just hasn't found a way to get on the field consistently during his career. Now is his time to make up some ground.
