Auburn snapped its three-game losing streak last week with an impressive 33-20 victory over Ole Miss.
The Tigers may have picked up an even bigger victory Friday when Under Armor All-America running back Michael Dyer announced that he would sign with Auburn. The 5-9, 200-pound Dyer is rated by Scouts Inc. as the No. 1 running back prospect in the country and the seventh best prospect overall.
To be able to go into Little Rock, Ark., and get Dyer was a coup for the Tigers and once again drives home how good a recruiting staff Gene Chizik put together. The key now will be holding on to Dyer, who has 7,566 career rushing yards and 74 touchdowns. He was also heavily recruited by Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma and Ole Miss among others.
Auburn fans can watch Dyer play Friday night. His Little Rock Christian team will face Pulaski Academy in an 8 p.m. ET game that will be televised by ESPNU.
