Jones, who is up for the Outland Trophy for the second straight year as the nation's top interior lineman, injured his foot in the first half of Alabama's 32-28 win over Georgia in Saturday's SEC championship game. He dealt with the injury for the rest of the game and essentially played on one leg in the second half. He needed crutches to move around after the game.
During Sunday's BCS teleconference, coach Nick Saban said Jones should be healthy when Alabama begins its bowl practice in two weeks.
"He should be OK by then," Saban said, "but these kind of things, you've got to take day to day."
When Jones spoke to members of the media Saturday, he said he didn't know exactly what his foot injury was, but indicated that it wasn't anything serious.
"Feel great," Jones said when asked about about his injury. "Couldn't feel better."
