Alabama senior center Barrett Jones will go down as one of the most decorated student-athletes in SEC history.

Jones, the winner of this year's Willliam V. Campbell Trophy -- better known as the Academic Heisman -- was named Thursday as the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America® of the Year for Division I football, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Jones is the only four-time Academic All-American in the history of Alabama football. The 2011 and 2012 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Jones carries a 4.0 GPA, has already received his degree in accounting and will complete his masters in accountancy next week.

Arkansas punter Dylan Breeding was the only other SEC player to earn first-team honors on the Capital One Academic All-America Team. Breeding has a 3.8 GPA in marketing.

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and Georgia offensive lineman/snapper Ty Frix were second-team selections. Murray has a 3.3 GPA in psychology, and Frix has a 3.77 GPA in biological engineering.
