Tennessee linebacker LaMarcus Thompson was checked out thoroughly, and all the preliminary tests on his neck came back negative after his scary injury Saturday against Ole Miss. He'll be able to fly back with the rest of the team to Knoxville.
Thompson lay on the field and was tended to by medical personnel for several minutes after his head slammed down hard on the turf. He was immobilized, carted from the field and taken for tests.
