Alabama will hold a public memorial service for former athletic director Mal Moore Thursday.
Moore, who had been a part of the university since the 1950s, died on Saturday at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He was 73.
The school announced on Monday that it will host a "Celebration of Life" in memory of Moore on Alabama's campus Thursday at 4 p.m. ET. Further details will be announced as they are finalized.
Just before his death, Moore had retired as Alabama's athletic director after experiencing health problems. Moore was hospitalized at Duke University Medical Center last month with pulmonary problems.
The school also announced that the Moore family has requested that anyone wishing to express condolences should consider donating in memory of Moore to the Crimson Tide Foundation or the Mal and Charlotte Moore Caring Days Center.
