Six SEC players are on the 2013 Heismanpundit/CBSSports.com Heisman Trophy watch list coming out of the spring.

Alabama and Georgia each placed two players on the early list. Quarterback AJ McCarron and running back T.J. Yeldon were on it from the Crimson Tide, while quarterback Aaron Murray and running back Todd Gurley made it for the Bulldogs.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, who won the 2012 Heisman Trophy, was one of three SEC quarterbacks making the cut.

The sixth player from the SEC on the list was South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who was the lone defensive player.

In time, I'd be surprised if Alabama receiver Amari Cooper isn't a legitimate candidate. There are a lot of people around the game that I respect who think Cooper is as good, if not better, than USC's Marquise Lee and Maryland's Stefon Diggs.
