It's just what the rest of the SEC wanted to hear: Jadeveon Clowney was back to his usual form on Saturday in Columbia, S.C.

The enigmatic defensive end, who only recently missed two practices with a shoulder injury that threatened to sideline him for the start of the season, was on the field again for the Gamecocks' second scrimmage of the preseason, pulling down at least two sacks and coming close on several others, according to a report.

Clowney played just two series during the scrimmage before watching the rest from the sidelines, but they were obviously enough to make an impression.

Seeing Clowney back to his old antics of threatening quarterbacks with his otherworldly athleticism must have been a pleasant sight for coach Steve Spurrier, who returns only five starters from last year's defense.
