The injury bug has hit Florida hard this fall -- most recently with the loss of offensive tackle Chaz Green for the season -- but the Gators did receive some good news Monday. Starting running back Matt Jones is expected to return to action when the team travels to Miami in Week 2.

Jones was hit with a viral infection in July but he's nearing full strength, according to head coach Will Muschamp. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound back has already been ruled out for Florida's season opener against Toledo on Saturday.

As a freshman, Jones ran for 275 yards and three touchdowns on 52 carries.

The Gators will also welcome back linebacker Antonio Morrison for the game against the Hurricanes. The sophomore would have likely started the season opener if it wasn't for two offseason arrests.

Morrison allegedly punched a nightclub bouncer July 16 after the man declined to give him discounted admission. Five days he was arrested for barking at a police dog and resisting arrest. Initially, Muschamp announced a two-game suspension, but after a review of the situation he made it one game.
