Here's a look at what else they're writing and saying around the SEC. Not surprisingly, there aren't a lot of good vibes coming out of Auburn after the Tigers' 34-17 loss to West Virginia on Thursday night:
- Columnist Kevin Scarbinsky of The Birmingham News writes that a bad situation at Auburn only got worse with the lackluster effort at West Virginia.
- Auburn's defense is exposed by West Virginia's Noel Devine, who torched the Tigers for 207 rushing yards.
- Only a freshman, Georgia's A.J. Green has been dazzling this season and is bearing down on breaking the school record for receiving yardage in a season.
- Arkansas is coming up short in its goal-line offense. The Hogs have struggled to score touchdowns when they've gotten close.
- Academic heavyweights are also getting it done on the football field this season.
