Football is king at Alabama. But, then, that's not exactly a revelation.

But when you hear that the university has canceled all classes from Jan. 6-8 so faculty, staff and students can make the trip to Pasadena, Calif., to see the Crimson Tide play in the BCS National Championship Game, it sort of puts into perspective how important football really is at Alabama.

Just turn to the first page of the Alabama football media guide:

At some places, they play football ...

At Alabama, we live it.
