Ever wanted a piece of Kyle Field's grass? If so, you're about to have your chance to buy some.
Texas A&M announced Thursday that the school will sell pallets of the natural glass playing surface that the Aggies play on via an online sale beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday.
The field will be removed at the conclusion of this season as part of the Kyle Field redevelopment project, an estimated $450-million renovation of the stadium that will complete in 2015. The Aggies will install a new playing surface in time for the 2014 season.
The pallets, which will be approximately 450 square feet, will go for $400 apiece, while a limited number of single grass squares will be available for $20 each. Each will be accompanied with a care guide and a certificate of authenticity signed by field manager Leo Goertz.
