Alabama placed six players on the Associated Press All-America team, more than any other school.
Making the first team were running back Mark Ingram, offensive guard Mike Johnson, nose guard Terrence Cody, linebacker Rolando McClain, cornerback Javier Arenas and kicker Leigh Tiffin.
Also, safety Mark Barron was named to the AP's third team.
All told, the SEC had 11 players earning first-team honors by the AP. The others were South Carolina linebacker Eric Norwood, Florida cornerback Joe Haden, Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez, Tennessee safety Eric Berry and Georgia punter Drew Butler.
