JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- No track meet ... yet.

The two defenses dominated in the first half with the exception of one drive by Florida.

The Gators went 80 yards in nine plays at the end of the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead, but they needed a couple of favorable calls to get there.

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow ran for a first down on the third play of the series, but replays appeared to show that his knee was down short of the first-down marker. Georgia coach Mark Richt challenged the spot, but the call on the field stood.

Richt was furious on the Georgia sideline and was barking at the officials.

The Gators got another break a few minutes later when Tebow floated a pass out to the flat that was intercepted by Georgia's Prince Miller. But Georgia defensive end Jarius Wynn, who looked like he was being held, was called for a personal foul for illegal hands to the face.

Percy Harvin scored the touchdown on 13-yard option play.

The Georgia defense did a good job in the first quarter of keeping Florida speedsters Jeffery Demps and Chris Rainey bottled up. Likewise, Georgia tailback Knowshon Moreno was unable to get going in the first quarter and just 15 yards on four carries.

The Bulldogs' only drive of the quarter ended in a missed 38-yard field goal attempt by Blair Walsh.
