JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There were no end zone stomps this time.

But there was a stomp -- a resounding, head-splitting stomp, the likes of which was heard around the college football world.

Florida had to wait a year, but the No. 8 Gators finally got their revenge Saturday for the infamous end zone stomp from a year ago with a 49-10 butchering of the No. 6 Bulldogs at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, the worst loss of Mark Richt's career.

Urban Meyer seemed to be sending a message by calling two timeouts in the final 44 seconds of the blowout.

Florida (7-1, 5-1 SEC) can now wrap up the Eastern Division title and trip to the SEC Championship Game by winning one of its last two conference games against Vanderbilt or South Carolina.

For that matter, the SEC Championship Game is all but set. All No. 2 Alabama needs to do in the Western Division is win next weekend at LSU or win two of its remaining three conference games against LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn.

Nationally, the Gators should also get a pretty nice bump in the BCS standings on Sunday, and Florida coach Urban Meyer did his part in making sure everyone noticed. The Gators were still throwing the ball down the field in the fourth quarter

For Georgia (7-2, 4-2 SEC), it was a devastating defeat, the kind that sent the Bulldogs' fans scurrying for the exits midway through the third quarter.

Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford was intercepted three times and took a pretty wicked beating from the Florida defense. He limped off the field in the third quarter.

The Gators turned three of the Bulldogs' four turnovers into touchdowns.

When Florida went up 35-3 in the third quarter on Tim Tebow's 7-yard touchdown run, the Gators only had 3 more total yards (230) than the Bulldogs (227).

Georgia ended the game by easily outgaining Florida in total offense. But the Gators also didn't have a turnover and were far superior on special teams.
