It's not a surprise to me. In talking with people close to the situation the past week or so, you knew this was coming. Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton didn't want it to end this way, but really had no choice.

Fulmer has a $6 million buyout, and it's my understanding that he will get that buyout in full. It's payable over the next 48 months, so Tennessee doesn't have to come up with that money right away.

Some of the coaches you might see on Tennessee's list include former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin, Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, Minnesota coach Tim Brewster, Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe, TCU coach Gary Patterson, Boise State coach Chris Petersen and Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley.

We're hearing the news conference at Tennessee will be held later today at 5 p.m., so we'll have more later.
