Mississippi State, who has had trouble scheduling "power" nonconference teams in the past, added another one to the future slate Tuesday. The school announced it will play a home-and-home with NC State in 2020 and 2021.
The Bulldogs will travel to Raleigh on Sept. 12, 2020 before welcoming the Wolfpack to Davis-Wade Stadium on Sept. 11, 2021.
The two sides have not met since the 1995 Peach Bowl when North Carolina State knocked off its SEC counterpart, 29-25. The Wolfpack hold a 3-2 lead in the all-time series.
Mississippi State recently scheduled a home-and-home series with Arizona for 2022 and 2013, but with the SEC's new scheduling rule beginning in 2016, the Bulldogs are still looking for that power nonconference foe for the 2016-2019 seasons. They opened last season against Oklahoma State in Houston.
