Bruce Feldman of ESPN The Magazine agrees with me, that South Carolina may be a team to watch in 2010.

In fact, Feldman has the Gamecocks No. 1 on his list of teams being overlooked for next season. South Carolina didn't make the revised pre-spring Top 25 put together by ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach.

South Carolina returns 19 starters, and quarterback Stephen Garcia will be entering his second full season as a starter. The Gamecocks also get a couple of injured players back on defense -- lineman Travian Robertson and linebacker Rodney Paulk.

Feldman notes that South Carolina probably would have been included in most preseason Top 25s had the Gamecocks not played so miserably in their bowl game loss to Connecticut.

Also on Feldman's list of overlooked teams is Auburn at No. 6.

I believe you're going to see the Tigers show up in some preseason Top 25s, especially if junior college quarterback Cameron Newton looks like the real deal this spring. The schedule also turns in Auburn's favor. The Tigers had to play 11 straight weeks last year before getting a bye.
