Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen has assigned coaching positions to his staff members.
Many of the roles were already pretty much set, such as Carl Torbush taking on the Bulldogs' defensive coordinator responsibilities. Torbush, the former head coach at North Carolina, will also coach linebackers. Torbush will be Mississippi State's highest paid assistant at $260,000 per year.
The offensive play-calling duties will be more of a team effort among offensive coordinator Les Koenning, passing game coordinator Mark Hudspeth and Mullen. Koenning will be the one to actually call the plays on game day.
Also of note, Tony Hughes will be the Bulldogs' recruiting coordinator and safeties coach. Hughes is one of the better recruiters in the SEC, and Mullen was able to get him away from Southern Miss last month.
