Aaron Murray sets school TD record
By Edward Aschoff
ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray officially owns the school record for touchdown passes in a single season.
His 15-yard touchdown pass to Bruce Figgins in the second quarter was his 26th touchdown pass of the season, breaking Matthew Stafford's record of 25. It put the Bulldogs up 21-7 over Auburn.
Murray has three touchdown passes in this half.
Things are starting to get away from the Tigers, who raced to fast start just like Georgia to open the game. However, Michael Dyer's fumble on a reverse attempt, which came a play after Isaiah Crowell coughed it up to the Tigers, set up Georgia's scoring drive.
But things have gotten way out of hand here in Sanford Stadium. If Murray's touchdown pass wasn't enough to deflate Auburn, Bacarri Rambo's 24-yard interception return for a touchdown to make it 28-7 might have. This was a back-and-forth game before Dyer's fumble, now Georgia has all of the energy on its side.
