Offenses stall in the third

By Edward Aschoff

AUBURN, Ala. -- It seemed as if neither team wanted to get into the end zone in the third quarter.

Alabama completely got away from a passing game that put up 164 yards and three touchdowns in the first half. AJ McCarron threw for just 20 in the third quarter and Alabama scored just three points.

Auburn's offense has done nothing all night, but did far less in the third, including not converting a key fourth down at midfield. The Tigers had just 13 yards of offense in the third quarter.

Trent Richardson's Heisman campaign is still in full swing, but Alabama can't get careless in this rivalry game. Get back to what won the game in the first half -- McCarron's arm.
