No grayshirt for Justin Taylor
By ESPN.com staff
Running back Justin Taylor of Atlanta has signed with Kentucky after being asked by Alabama to grayshirt and delay his enrollment until January.
Taylor had been committed to the Crimson Tide for nearly a year, but injured his knee this past September during his senior season. His high school coach and legal guardian, former South Carolina running back Stanley Pritchett, was critical of Alabama's handling of the situation.
Ultimately, it didn't matter, as Taylor took unofficial visits to both Kentucky and Ole Miss and decided to sign with the Wildcats on Wednesday.
That's three running backs from the Atlanta area that Kentucky has signed in its last two recruiting classes. Josh Clemons played this past season as a true freshman before hurting his knee, while Marcus Caffey redshirted.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Taylor is ranked by ESPN Recruiting as the No. 36 running back prospect in the country.
