Freeze scores big with Trae Elston
By Chris Low
Hugh Freeze's recruiting prowess is one of the big reasons he landed the Ole Miss head-coaching job, and getting Under Armour All-America safety Trae Elston of Oxford, Ala., on Wednesday was a huge get for Freeze and the Rebels.
Elston is ranked by ESPN Recruiting as the No. 10 safety prospect in the country, and one of the Rebels' most pressing needs in this class was in the secondary. LSU and Oklahoma State made late pushes for the 6-foot, 180-pound Elston, who ran a 4.41 40-yard dash this offseason at a combine and recorded a 34-inch vertical leap.
