An early look at the top 2013 prospects
By Chris Low
The search for great football players never ends, which means schools are already hot on the trail of the top 2013 prospects.
The ESPN recruiting team has put together an early list of the top 100 prospects in the country for the 2013 class, and you'll notice that several of these guys are already committed to SEC schools.
Among the headliners already committed to SEC schools are defensive tackle Caleb Brantley of Crescent City, Fla., to Florida, linebacker Reuben Foster of LaGrange, Ga., to Alabama and quarterback Kohl Stewart of Houston and receiver Jamar Gibson of Baytown, Texas both to Texas A&M.
Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M all have three commitments each from players on the list. Auburn and Florida each have two players on the list committed to them, while Ole Miss has one.
Florida coach Will Muschamp said the Gators were excited about the class of running backs in the state of Florida in 2013, and no wonder. Adam Lane of Winter Haven, Fla., is already committed to the Gators, and he's on the list along with four other running backs from the state of Florida.
As usual, the talent in the states of Florida and Georgia is staggering. There are 18 players from Florida on the list and 13 players from Georgia.
