DawgNation links: Matthews is 'torn'

By staff

Radi Nabulsi writes Insider: After a visit to Auburn recently with his best friend and Tigers commit Reuben Foster, Georgia commit Tray Matthews admitted he’s torn, and he endured an onslaught of Twitter attacks from Georgia fans and a barrage of encouraging tweets and Facebook posts from Auburn fans. Through it all, he maintains he is solid to Georgia -- but for how long?

David Ching writes: Gone are Orson Charles and Aron White, but the Bulldogs don’t figure to use their tight ends any less than they usually would.

Ching Insider: To overcome the special teams issues that plagued the Bulldogs last season, Georgia coaches are bringing in the likes of All-America linebacker Jarvis Jones, who practiced Tuesday with the punting team.

Kipp Adams writes Insider: Recruiting notebook, summer recap. A look at who committed -- and decommitted -- to Georgia this summer and who might be next in line as the Bulldogs and their remaining 2013 targets head into football season.

Ching Insider: Practice notebook. While his football aspirations will see a bump in priority this season as he sees more playing time, Georgia redshirt freshman TE Jay Rome plans to continue being a Hoop Dawg, too.

Ching Insider: Q&A with UGA backup quarterback Hutson Mason

Ching Insider : Georgia position coach Rodney Garner admits he’s being a little rough on incoming freshman D-lineman Jonathan Taylor this summer, but, like the Bionic Man, the aim is to “rebuild him.”

Ching Insider: Around the Hedges in 80 Days -- 25 days to kickoff. Linebacker Alec Ogletree by now has established that he possesses game-changing talent. However, with discipline possibly looming for a reported failed drug test, we still don’t know what game will be the first in which Bulldog Nation sees that talent this fall.
