SEC still atop conference power rankings
By Edward Aschoff
Even with previously No. 1 Alabama losing to Texas A&M Saturday, the SEC remains at the top of the ESPN Stats & Information Conference Power Rankings.
With the SEC now having five teams ranked in the AP top 10 and six teams having two or fewer losses, the SEC didn't lose much of its commanding lead in the power rankings. Mississippi State's fall from the Top 25 didn't really hurt the SEC, either. The SEC is still the only conference with more than one team ranked in the AP top 10 or four teams with two or fewer losses.
The SEC remains No. 1 in the AP rankings and second in the computers, behind the Big 12. The SEC saw a minus-.3 overall rating change, but has a 97-88.4 lead over the Big 12.
