SEC vs. the BCS in 2012

By Chris Low

For the second straight year, only two BCS conferences posted winning records against teams from the other BCS conferences and Notre Dame.

The SEC and Big 12 were the only two over .500.

The SEC was 14-9, which included a 6-3 mark in bowl games. The Big 12 was 9-6, which included a 4-5 record in bowl games.

Of the SEC's nine losses, four came to Big East teams. The Big East really beat up on the SEC in 2012. Until Ole Miss' win over Pittsburgh in the BBVA Compass Bowl, the SEC had gone winless against the Big East.

Here’s the full list:

SEC: 14-9
Big 12: 9-6
Pac-12: 8-8
Big East: 10-11
Big Ten: 8-14
ACC: 9-19

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the SEC:

vs. ACC: 6-2
vs. Big Ten: 3-2
vs. Big East: 1-4
vs. Pac-12: 2-0
vs. Big 12: 1-1
vs. Notre Dame: 1-0
