Bama's Richardson takes his turn

PASADENA, Calif. – The beauty of this Alabama offense is that it hasn't had to rely on just one guy.

Quarterback Greg McElroy hasn’t played that well to this point, and the Crimson Tide haven’t had much of a passing game.

But Mark Ingram gets them started on their way to their first touchdown, and then freshman Trent Richardson bolts up the middle untouched for a 49-yard touchdown run.

As good as Ingram is, Richardson might be even more explosive. And as his run demonstrated, when he breaks into the open, few people are going to catch him.

The best part for Alabama (and scary part for everybody else) is that the Ingram-Richardson duo is going to be around for a while.
