Last week, Auburn receiver D'haquille Williams apparently posted a series of cryptic tweets that gave Tigers fans a little anxiety.
The tweets, later deleted, were addressed by Auburn coach Gus Malzahn on Monday.
"Kids are going to be kids," Malzahn said Monday, according to AL.com. "We've got to do a better job with what we tweet out."
The tweets intimated Williams considering a future elsewhere. One of them read "Ion [sic] think This where I wanna be. Have to see what my options is [sic] after my last exam."
Receivers coach Dameyune Craig tweeted a picture of him and Williams from his office the next morning, seemingly diffusing the situation.
"As a head coach I'm aware of everything as far that goes," Malzahn said of Williams' social media activity. "Like I said we have to do a better job in the future."
