SEC: DeMarcus Bingham

TideNation links: Mizzou recruit battles

October, 9, 2012
Greg Ostendorf writes Insider: There hasn’t been much to speak of historically in the way of Alabama-Missouri recruiting battles, but with the Tigers joining the SEC that’s bound to change soon.

Ostendorf Insider: Class of 2014 wide receiver DeMarcus Bingham has yet to receive his first scholarship offer, but the junior knows that’ll happen soon enough. Meanwhile, the Foley, Ala., prospect visited Tuscaloosa and Auburn recently, and noted which Alabama program outshined the other.

Alex Scarborough writes: Alabama is on top of the college football world heading into a trip this week to Columbia, Mo. That doesn't mean anything, though, as the Tide were in the same position two years ago before losing to South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.

Scarborough: Nick Saban says the only predictable thing about the 2012 season is its unpredictability.

TideNation links: Lester's time to shine

Alex Scarborough writes: Alabama safety Robert Lester, seen as a recruiting throw-in to land Julio Jones, is now a major contributor who passed up the NFL to return this season.

Greg Ostendorf writes: Insider Junior WR DeMarcus Bingham, off to a hot start despite a sprained ankle, will visit Alabama this weekend hoping to continue a pipeline from Foley (Ala.) HS that has produced All-Americans like Jones, Lester and D.J. Fluker.

Note: Check back later with TideNation later for updates from Nick Saban's teleconference and from practice.
