It’s all over, folks. The king is dead.
According to the animated world, the SEC’s run at a sixth straight national championship will end at the hands of a team from the Big 12.
The EA Sports crew simulated the entire 2011 season and it all culminated with a meeting between Alabama and Oklahoma in the BCS national title game in New Orleans.
Even with all that talent and hype, the Tide fell to the Sooners 27-17.
Things started off well for Alabama as Trent Richardson scampered into the end zone on a long run to put the Tide up 7-0. But Oklahoma responded as Roy Finch got a long touchdown of his own to make it 7-7.
Oklahoma never looked back at that point, proving that the SEC is not invulnerable in national championship games.
A collective roar could be heard from above the Mason-Dixon Line when CGI Bob Stoops celebrated while being showered with confetti and Alabama’s animated look-alikes slinked off the Superdome turf and into the locker room.
Jones finished the game with 288 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Richardson rushed for 96 yards and a score.
We're bitter by EA's outcome, but if you'd like to congratulate our Big 12 brothers, you can do so here.
