David Ching writes Insider: Expectations for Georgia’s secondary this season -- coming off a terrific 2011 -- were rather enormous, and surprisingly the defensive backs have done anything but live up to the hype.

Ching Insider: We’ve said it before: Following a spotty-at-best special-teams effort in 2011, Georgia’s unit has delivered a mixed bag so far this season. New kicker Marshall Morgan has been spectacular at times and wobbly at others, and for the whole group there’s still a ways to go.

Ching Insider: Wrapping up Georgia’s bye week, DawgNation takes a look at three strengths and three weaknesses among the Bulldogs’ upcoming opponents.

David Ching writes: A mountain of decisions stretching far beyond the obvious conference football schedules awaits SEC coaches and administrators at the SEC meetings this week in Destin, Fla.

Kipp Adams writes Insider: ESPN 150 athlete Vonn Bell is in no rush to make a decision on his college career, and he’s soaking up plenty of attention in the process.
Radi Nabulsi writes Insider: The nation’s top prospect approves of UGA’s recent hiring of one of his old high school coaches to fill the new role of director, on-campus recruiting. How much sway does the hiring give the Bulldogs with DE Robert Nkemdiche?

DawgNation links: Special-teams concerns

May, 7, 2012
David Ching writes: In 2011, return coverage and play on special teams in general for Georgia were at their worst in the Mark Richt era. Now Richt & Co. plan to intensify the focus on improving on those issues.

Radi Nabulsi writes Insider: UGA class of 2013 commit Reggie Wilkerson is learning how to pull off a sales pitch as he lobbies for colleges, particularly Georgia, to consider his track star twin sister and himself as a package deal.

Mount Rushmores for SEC teams

February, 17, 2009

Posted by's Chris Low

I'm going to take my stab at doing a football Mount Rushmore for all 12 SEC teams.

I'll break it up in two posts, the Eastern Division and Western Division, and will unveil my picks on Wednesday. When you think about all the great players and great coaches in this league over the years, that's quite an undertaking to pick just four at each school.

So here's your chance to help out. Any input is appreciated, and I'll certainly weigh that input as I'm putting the teams together.

I'm already getting a headache trying to figure out how I'm going to pick just four from Alabama.

I'm all ears.

A preview of what's to come

It's good to be back after a weekend away from the SEC blog, and we're going to dive right back in.

The bowls are fast approaching, and some of the teams have already started bowl preparations at their campus sites.

Before we look ahead, though, we'll take one last look back at the regular season. So on Monday, we'll recap the seasons of the Eastern Division teams. And on Tuesday, we'll recap the seasons of the Western Division teams.

So keep checking back, and again, I appreciate everybody's input, involvement and interest. Thanks for reading and thanks for making SEC football the spectacle that it is.

I'll be online to chat today at 1 p.m. ET.
