Auburn's Hawthorne hopes to play

AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn may get some help at receiver Saturday night against West Virginia.

Junior receiver Tim Hawthorne is dressed and going through warm-ups, and the Tigers think he will be able to play, possibly even start.

Hawthorne missed the first two games after breaking a bone in his foot during summer workouts. At one point, the Tigers were fearful they might not have him until sometime in October.

Senior tight end Tommy Trott, who hurt his knee last week, is also dressed and just hit the field with the rest of his teammates.
