The Cincinnati/Central Michigan Connection
December 16, 2009 5:01 PM ET
Cincinnati is hoping to catch lightning in a bottle a second time. It's hired another football coach from Central Michigan. Butch Jones has accepted a 5-year deal to replace Brian Kelly who left for Notre Dame. Jones took over for Kelly at Central Michigan and he'll do so again at Cincinnati.
Jones actually had a better record in his 3 seasons at Central Michigan than Kelly, but has yet to win a bowl game. Kelly left the Chippewas before their bowl game in 2006. No word if Jones will coach in the GMAC Bowl on January 6th.
