Buster blogs about the Yankees bringing Javier Vazquez back

Pitcher Javier Vazquez has been traded back to the New York Yankees by Atlanta in a swap that sent Melky Cabrera to the Braves on Tuesday. New York also gets left-hander Boone Logan as part of the deal, and the Braves obtained pitching prospects Mike Dunn, a lefty, and right-hander Arodys Vizcaino, and about $500,000. Today in his video blog, Buster details why Brian Cashman brought Vazquez back to the Bronx.

Check out Vazquez's strikeout numbers since 2000 after the jump.

Javier Vazquez recorded 2,001 strikeouts this decade, 2nd only to Randy Johnson in the majors. He's the ONLY pitcher in the last decade to win at least 10 games each year. Vazquez has at least 10 wins and 150 K's in his last 10 seasons, only 9 other pitchers in MLB history have had streaks last that long.
