Artest Injured at Home

Lakers F Ron Artest was injured in his home Friday night and will not play Saturday when the team travels to Sacramento to face the Kings. Artest tripped over a box and fell down a flight of stairs, cutting his elbow and the back of his head. He was treated at UCLA Medical Center with stitches and a CT Scan and then met with a neurologist who confirmed he suffered a concussion. The doctor will keep in touch with Artest daily until he is cleared to play again. He was averaging 12.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, but was known more for his defensive skills. F Lamar Odom will likely replace Artest in the starting lineup.
