Freeney/Wayne Update
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that despite the fact that he hasn't practiced and he has a torn ligament in his right ankle, Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney is likely to play Sunday, according to one source that has watched him prepare in Miami this week. Freeney plans to test his ankle in pregame warmups. But, barring any setbacks, Freeney is expected to play at defensive end in what could turn out to be a football version of Knicks center Willis Reed hobbling onto the court for a championship game against the Lakers. WR Reggie Wayne returned to his duties with the first team offense, showing no effects of a minor fat pad injury to his right knee.

Daytona Front Row
Mark Martin earned his first-ever Daytona 500 pole, becoming the oldest pole sitter in Daytona 500 history. He led all Sprint Cup drivers last season with 7 poles. If he goes on to win the race, he would be the oldest Daytona 500 winner in history. Teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the 2nd-fastest qualifier and is therefore guaranteed a spot on the outside of Row 1. Earnhardt won the 2004 edition of this race. The Gatorade Duels on Thursday will determine the starting grid for positions 3-43.
