By the way, Jim Boeheim says that the Orange will most likely will be without the services of injured center Arinze Onuaku, who suffered a quadriceps injury against Georgetown in the Big East quarterfinals.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that in a move equivalent to Emmitt Smith finishing his career in Arizona, LaDainian Tomlinson will finish his career in New Jersey. Tomlinson and the Jets reached agreement Sunday on a two-year deal, according to an NFL source. Tomlinson spent Thursday with the Vikings, Friday with the Jets and Saturday flying to his home in San Diego. Before he left New York, Tomlinson told some within the Jets organization that he soon would return. He kept his word. After employing Brett Favre two seasons ago, the Jets will employ Tomlinson this season. Who knew, but had Favre wanted to play with Tomlinson, Favre should have stayed in New York.

The Denver Broncos have acquired quarterback Brady Quinn from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for fullback Peyton Hillis, a sixth-round pick in 2011 and a conditional pick in 2012. The Browns agreed to terms on a two-year deal with quarterback Jake Delhomme on Saturday. Delhomme was released by the Carolina Panthers last week.
David Beckham will miss the World Cup after tearing his left Achilles tendon while playing for AC Milan -- This from a person familiar with the injury. The person, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Beckham "will miss the World Cup for sure."
Steve Nash, 36, reached a historic milestone Sunday when the Suns took on the Hornets in New Orleans. It was Nash's 1,000th career regular season game in the NBA. From the day he was drafted in 1996, Nash has heard questions about his durability, but he says he has changed his workouts throughout his career to keep his body in tune with what was necessary to play in the league. Phoenix won 120-106. Nash finished with 13 points and 12 assists.
Ryan Westmoreland was considered to be the best prospect in the Red Sox system, but now he has a much bigger hill to climb than making it to the big leagues. Westmoreland has an unusual congenital condition in his brain that will require surgery and could threaten his life. The 19-year-old outfielder had been experiencing headaches and numbness. Following an evaluation from three different neurologists, the condition was discovered and surgery was his only option.
The owner of Rachel Alexandra says his Horse of the Year won't run against unbeaten Zenyatta next month in Arkansas. Jess Jackson said his 4-year-old star filly is not in top form following her second-place finish in Saturday's New Orleans Ladies. Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta were making their first starts of the year in what were supposed to be prep races for their highly anticipated first-time showdown in the Apple Blossom.
The Giants and Jets will open up their new $1.6 billion home next season, but which team gets the first game will be determined purely by chance. The Jets announced on their website that a coin flip will be used to determine which New York team gets to open up the new stadium, that still does not have a name. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello did not confirm the flip, simply saying that commissioner Roger Goodell determines the schedule.
