North Carolina Tar Heels (19-16, 5-11 ACC) vs Rhode Island Rams (26-9, 9-7 A 10)
9:00 PM ET, March 30, 2010 -- Madison Square Garden, New York, NY -- ESPN2, ESPN360.com
North Carolina has won the NIT once in 5 previous appearances (1971). With North Carolina advancing to New York for the semifinals, they have a chance to do something no school has ever done – win the NCAA and NIT titles in consecutive seasons. UNC has won 2 straight road games, something they failed to do the entire season. A win over Rhode Island would give the Heels a 4-game winning streak, matching their longest of the season (opened the season 4-0). Deon Thompson is UNC’s leading scorer (13.7 PPG). Rhode Island is in the NIT for the third year in a row and the 14th time in school history. The Rams’ best NIT finish was in 1946 (second place). Not one player on the Rams roster has ever played a game in Madison Square Garden.

UConn shoots for its 76th straight win tonight; the Huskies are in the Elite 8 for the 5th straight season and 16th time overall. The Huskies are dominating the NCAA tourney, winning their first 3 games by a combined margin of 148 points, the highest ever through the first 3 rounds. In 3 tournament games, Maya Moore is averaging 21.7 PPG while making 12-of-17 from 3-point range. Florida State is in its 1st Elite 8 and lost to Connecticut 78-59 in Tallahassee Dec. 28.

Phoenix Coyotes (47-23-6) vs Vancouver Canucks (45-26-4)
10:00 PM ET, March 30, 2010 -- General Motors Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
The surprising Phoenix Coyotes have clinched a playoff spot for the first time after the 2004-2005 lockout. The Coyotes have posted an 8-1-1 record in their last 10 games, the best mark in the NHL over that span. Vancouver will play host Tuesday night to a very good road team, a big reason the Coyotes have their first 100 point season since moving to Phoenix in 1996.
