Your Rehabilitated Season: Chargers Edition

LT has a killer Isaiah Rider impression. Too bad it only works with a seven foot hoop.

If your last check-in with San Diego was coming off of their bye week they were a team in disarray. A 2-3 start and sluggish running game don’t add up to a playoff contender. Perhaps you wrote the Bolts off after the Broncos got off to a buckin’ good start. Don’t look now, but with a six-game winning streak the team’s been on top of the AFC West two weeks in a row. Admittedly three of those games came against the Chiefs and Raiders, but you can’t call yourself a contender without taking the “gimmes.”

What gives with San Diego’s newfound success? Perhaps these are a few of the reasons why they seem to be putting it all together:

They’re doing it for LT: He’s been good for so long that when he scores twice like tonight, critics (especially fantasy owners) wonder where the 100+ rushing yards went. If this is Tomlinson’s last season as a starter, helping him reach one more season with double digit TDs would be a nice way of saying "thanks for everything".
They can hear Josh McDaniels behind them: A single win separates the Chargers from the Broncos, who get those Chief and Raider leftovers in the remaining weeks.

It’s their 50th Anniversary: Shawne Merriman stepped up to make sure he was one of the 50 Greatest Chargers of All Time for the Block Party.

It’s just Norv being Norv: If there’s one coach you can count on to tease fans during the regular season, it’s Turner.

If you're wondering how much longer they can maintain the streak, we think it's safe to assume that it'll go on for at least one more week. The only thing standing in their way next week is a visit from the 1-10 Cleveland Browns.
