Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger practiced today and remains symptom free from following his concussion. He is expected to start this Sunday when the Steelers will face the Oakland Raiders. Roethlisberger missed the game last week against the Ravens after his fourth concussion since 2006 and second in less than a year. The Steelers are 6-5 and have lost 3 straight. With the Steelers on the outside of the playoffs looking in, they should get a much needed boost by the return of their QB.

Florida defensive end Carlos Dunlap has been suspended indefinitely by the university and will not participate in the SEC Championship game this Saturday. Head Coach Urban Meyer did not say when or if he would be allowed back with the team this year. Police found Dunlap slumped over in his car asleep while sitting through several green lights and reportedly smelled like alcohol. Dunlap was the defensive MVP of the national title game last season, and was considered a potential top 10 pick in the NFL draft if he came out. He is tied for the team lead with 7 sacks this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced today that they will retire former linebacker Derrick Thomas' No. 58 this Sunday at halftime of their game against the Denver Broncos. Thomas died following his 11th season from injuries sustained in a car wreck in January of 2000. Thomas still holds an NFL record when he racked up 7 sacks against the Seattle Seahawks in 1990. He also holds team records for compiling 20 total sacks that season, and his 126.5 career sacks puts him at the top of the Chiefs' career list.
