Rockies 12, Cardinals 9
If you were at this game last night, I hope you saved your ticket stub. And didn't leave early. The Rockies staged their first comeback from 6 runs down in the 9th inning in team history. Seth Smith won it with first career walk-off home run. It's the second time a Tony LaRussa-managed team has lost a game in which it had a 6+ run 9th-inning lead (first since 1998). Ryan Franklin allowed 6 runs in relief for the first time since 2002. The Rockies got their 12th comeback win of the season. Only the Mets, with 11, have fewer. It's the 10th time the Cardinals have lost a game in which they led, tied with the Rays for fewest in MLB. Matt Holliday's home run was his first against his former team.
