Cincinnati Reds (49-37) at Philadelphia Phillies (43-40)
7:05 PM ET -- Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Starting Pitchers
Cincinnati: Johnny Cueto (8-2, 3.56 ERA)
Philadelphia: Kyle Kendrick (5-3, 4.70 ERA)
In their final series before the All-Star break, the high-octane Reds look to continue their surge when they open a four-game set against the struggling Phillies tonight at Citizens Bank Park. Cincinnati is winning behind an offense that ranks first in the NL in runs (427), homers (106) and slugging percentage (.448), with Joey Votto and All-Star second baseman Brandon Phillips leading the charge. They'll send Johnny Cueto to the hill for the series-opener. Cueto has a 0.70 ERA over his last 4 starts (2 ER/25.2 IP). The Phillies will counter with Kyle Kendrick, who is coming off his first major league complete game.

New York Yankees (53-31) at Seattle Mariners (34-50)
10:10 PM ET -- Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington
Starting Pitchers
New York: Andy Pettitte (10-2, 2.82 ERA)
Seattle: Jason Vargas (6-4, 3.22 ERA)
2010 All-Star Andy Pettitte looks for a third-consecutive victory while trying to help the Yankees match a season-high sixth-straight win Thursday night in Seattle. Pettitte has struggled at times against the Mariners, going 10-11 with a 4.51 ERA. He is 2-3 in his last six starts versus Seattle, but has a 2.76 ERA during that span. The Mariners hope Jason Vargas can avoid a third-straight loss when he opens the series tonight. Vargas allowed six runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings of a 6-1 loss at Detroit Saturday. Returning home could help the left-hander, who is 5-1 with a 2.30 ERA in nine starts at Safeco. Ichiro Suzuki is a lifetime .389 hitter against Pettitte.
