Sources: Rams Give Bradford $50 Million Guaranteed
No. 1 overall draft pick Sam Bradford made NFL history Friday. Sources told ESPN the rookie QB agreed to a six-year, $78 million contract with the St. Louis Rams. Bradford is guaranteed $50 million, the highest ever in the NFL.

Oswalt Roughed Up in Debut Loss to Nationals
The Washington Nationals roughed up Roy Oswalt in his Philadelphia debut, ending the Phillies' eight-game winning streak with an 8-1 victory Friday night. Oswalt allowed five runs -- four earned -- and seven hits in six innings. He walked two, struck out four and hit two batters in defeat.

Dez Bryant Out 4-5 Weeks; Jerry Jones Not Happy
Dallas Cowboys rookie receiver Dez Bryant will be sidelined the rest of training camp and perhaps for the entire preseason with a right high-ankle sprain suffered Friday. Bryant was injured on the second-to-last play of practice in the Alamodome.

A-Rod Stuck on #599 as Yankees Fall to Rays
Tampa Bay forced Alex Rodriguez to wait at least one more day before entering the 600-homer club, defeating the Yankees 3-2 Friday. The Rays matched their longest winning streak of the season at seven games and pulled within one game of the AL East-leading Yankees with their 11th win in 12 home games. A-Rod went 0-4 with a strikeout.

Sources: Berry, Chiefs Agree to Deal
Safety Eric Berry, the fifth overall pick in last spring's draft, and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a deal, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The deal is for six years and worth a maximum $60 million, of which $34 million is guaranteed, sources said. Berry now becomes the league's highest-paid safety.

Foxworth Has Season-Ending ACL Injury
A major loss for the Ravens during the 1st week of training camp -- Starting cornerback Domonique Foxworth suffered a torn ACL during practice Thursday, and is out for the season. The team is already extremely thin in the secondary. Foxworth started all 16 games last season, with 4 interceptions.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
The Chicago White Sox acquired pitcher Edwin Jackson from the Diamondbacks for pitchers Daniel Hudson and David Holmberg Friday. Jackson is 6-10 this season with a 5.16 ERA. He threw the 2nd no-hitter in Diamondbacks history on June 25th against the Rays.

Haynesworth Fails Test Again
Albert Haynesworth failed his conditioning test for a second consecutive day Friday and is being forced to sit out practice again at Washington Redskins training camp. So, Haynesworth's second day of training camp was much like his first. After failing the test, he participated in treadmill and agility work while the rest of the team practiced.

Sources: Berkman Deal in Place
Houston Astros first baseman Lance Berkman waived his no-trade clause and a deal is in place to move him to the New York Yankees, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney on Friday. The Astros will pick up $4 million of the $7 million owed to Berkman this year and in his 2011 option, sources said.

Wright's Ex-Wife Got Threatening Visit
Three armed men looking for Lorenzen Wright arrived at the home of the former NBA player's ex-wife about six weeks before he was found shot to death, an attorney said Friday. Lawyer Gail Mathes said her client, Sherra Wright, was afraid for herself and her children, so she remained silent about the encounter until Monday.
